EQUITEL supplies equipment for Spanish city traffic lights network

EQUITEL has designed a new converter for RS422 serial data to IP for transmission over Ethernet networks

November 23, 2010

This system has been recently chosen for updating the traffic lights network of Zaragoza, the fifth largest Spanish city. The city traffic lights network is very old and, furthermore, Zaragoza is one of the cities with the highest ratio of traffic lights per person. Therefore, a modernization was becoming very necessary.

This new system has 3 RS422 outputs which are galvanically isolated and protected against overloads. They can be configured via a web server integrated in each card.

EQUITEL has supplied 270 units, which will enable the control of more than 800 traffic light controllers. Further versions of this module will follow in the coming months in order to complete the range.
